I am writing this when the reinstatement of the judges is imminent. I am watching these events unfold with watchful prudence, for though I know the fruit from the struggles of the lawyers and public will bear a sweet fruit, history has made it so that every positive event is followed by a few on the other end of the spectrum. From what I've gathered from various speeches and my own personal sources, Mr. Iftikhar Chaudhry's reinstatement should have been a fundamental priority of the current government in the first place. Their failure to do should be condemned, and barring any sudden miraculous economic u-turns on their part, work must be done to oust them post-haste. Though my attempts to think of a truly honest and concrete replacement falter in vain, I am adamant that better options do exist. Let us hope the reinstatement is unconditional and that this is first of many positive events which will eventually lead to a better, stable and united Pakistan.

Pakistan "to restore chief justice"
I am quite hesitant to make attempts to articulate my thoughts about the current politicial situation in Pakistan. As an avid cricket fan, my patriotic and cricketing spirit is currently marred by the recent security debacle that came to pass in Lahore. It seems the turmoil has continued from as far back as I know, and the Pakistani public must be commended for their ability to strive through phases of political unrest and general chaos.

Seizure of vehicles hurting Pakistan Businessmen
Seizure of transportation vehicles and containers by the government to stop the long march has upset the traders and businessmen. They have warned that they will observe a country wide strike if any thing happens to their vehicles and containers.
Korangi Association of Trade and Industry Chairman Mian Zahid Hussain said the transporters were reluctant to take upcountry orders fearing seizure of their vehicles as the government was using them for blocking roads to thwart the lawyers in their bid to stage a long march in Islamabad.
SITE Association of Trade and Industry Chairman M A Jabbar said owing to political instability foreign as well as domestic investors had become uncertain. “If this situation prevails, local investors will be out of the scene in future,” he warned. “If the government does not release our vehicles immediately, we will go on a wheel-jam strike before the long march,” he warned.
It's a shame that the government is using public property for its goals!
